Aerospace Technology    #1

This program provides students with a foundation of knowledge and technically oriented experiences in the study of Aerospace Technologies, its effect upon our lives, and the choosing of an occupation. Careers in Aerospace include specialization in Aerodynamics, stress engineering, materials and structures, fuel systems, avionics, flight test, flight simulation, sustainable aircraft design, landing gear, helicopters, satellite design, and spacecraft.

Allied Health Assisting     #2

This program provides students technical skill proficiency, occupation specific skills, and knowledge of all aspects of the Health Science career cluster. The content includes performing skills representative of one to three areas of allied health care in the laboratory and activities performed in a clinical setting under the supervision of a health professional duly certified/licensed. Major areas of allied health are defined as physical therapy, emergency, radiation, laboratory and respiratory medicine, and occupational therapy.

Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair   #3

This program offers a sequence of courses that provides technical skills in automotive maintenance. The content includes instruction in maintenance of Brakes, Steering and Suspension, Electronics and Performance. Automotive service technicians and mechanics, or service technicians, inspect, maintain, and repair cars and light trucks.

Commercial Art Technology    #4

This program provides students with technical skills to prepare students for employment in networking support services positions, artists and related workers, illustrators, and commercial art designers. The course content will include the following: basic art skills, preparation of layouts and illustrations, preparation of camera ready paste-up, and development of specialized skills.

Criminal Justice Operations   #5

This program prepares students for further education and careers by providing broad based knowledge of all aspects of the law, Public Safety and Security career cluster. Possible careers include Law Enforcement Officers, Compliance Officers, Protective Service Workers, Forensic Science Technicians, Paralegals and Legal Assistants, and Parking Enforcement Workers.

Culinary Arts   #6

This program provides students with technical skill and occupation-specific skills and knowledge of all aspects of the Restaurant and Food and Beverage Services Industry. The content includes preparation, presentation, and serving of food; leadership, communication skills, employability skills, and safe/efficient work practices. This prepares students for employment in the food service/hospitality industry such as Food Preparation Workers, Combined Food Preparation and Serving Workers, Cooks, and Food Service Managers.

Digital Video Production   #7

This program provides students with technical skills in the overall production of video activities including: scripts, lighting, camera operation, electronic news gathering, field/studio production, and video editing. Media of all types are explored in this course of study. Video and Audio specialties are explored with industry certification leading to possible employment or entrance into college in the field of multimedia. This program prepares students for initial employment as Production Assistants, Audio/Video Equipment Technicians, Video/TV Camera Operators, Video Editors, Multi-Media Artists/Animators and Broadcast Technicians.

Energy Technician   #8

This program provides students with technical skill proficiency in all aspects of the Energy career cluster. The content consists of two courses related to energy and two courses related to electricity which have been incorporated into one program to present information that will assist Florida in increasing the number and skill level of workers who are available to meet the workforce needs of Florida’s current emerging  alternative energy industry. This program prepares students for possible careers in Energy Systems Installation, Maintenance and Repair.

Performing Arts    #9

This program provides students with knowledge, skills, and hands-on experience in all aspects of Theatre Arts while developing communication and organizational skills, self-confidence, critical and creative thinking, leadership, and a disciplined work ethic. Students may focus their study in Acting, Technical Theatre Design and Production, Musical Theatre, or Directing and may supplement their coursework with participation onstage and backstage in Shark Theatre productions. Through the study and practice of Theatre Arts students increase their knowledge and awareness of history, literature, language, culture, psychology, business, technology, and more, preparing them for success in college and the professional world regardless of their chosen career path. Study in performing arts will assist students pursuing careers in many areas including marketing, advertising, event planning, law, the clergy, education, politics, broadcasting, and project management in addition to careers directly related to the arts and entertainment industries.

Applied Engineering Technology   #10

The purpose of this program is to provide students with a foundation of knowledge and technically oriented experiences in the study of production technology, production design, and design of the manufacturing process. The content and activities will also include the study of entrepreneurship, safety, and leadership skills. This program focuses on understanding and demonstration of the technological machines, instruments, materials, processes and systems of manufacturing. This program will prepare students for careers as Mechanical or Industrial Engineering  Technicians, Industrial Production Managers or Engineers.

Technology Support Services   #11

This program offers a broad foundation of knowledge and skills to prepare students for employment in network support services positions. The content includes software applications and operating systems including the use of advanced software/system features and programs, electronic communication via the Internet, Web page components, computer networking and network administration, the interrelationships among major components of networks, hardware and software selection and installation, integration techniques to enhance projects, and preventative hardware maintenance. This program prepares students for careers such as Help Desk Support Assistant, Help Desk Specialist (Help Desk Technician) and Help Desk Analyst.
